Recrewt Ltd is headed up by Sarah Plant who grew up in a maritime family in Kent, UK, With her father having been a Master Mariner, she originally came to yachting from a Merchant Navy background, working as a stewardess for P&O. In 1995 Sarah moved over to the superyacht industry and worked aboard various yachts, starting as a junior stewardess (yes, she cleaned toilets too), and eventually became Head of Department. There followed an onshore position in crew recruitment with a well-known yacht agency, where Sarah truly found her niche.
With a host of knowledge and experience behind her, Sarah continued her career in crew recruitment and started Recrewt in 2003. It was formed as a bespoke recruitment company, working very closely with crew and always giving straightforward, impartial advice in a mentoring role. To this day she still gets a thrill from finding the right crew for the right boat, saying “It’s like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. I enjoy seeing my crew do well, working their way up the ladder and love to hear their stories of successes and adventures. I will pull their reins too, when needed, and am always available for support and advice. My ethos has always been that crew are people, not pieces of paper.”
