So, as 2020 is coming to a close, I hear the world heaving a sigh of relief. We don’t know what 2021 holds but I am hoping it will be a safer year for all of us. I hope that you and yours have weathered this unprecedented phenomenon as well as possible and have kept mentally and physically well.
For some of you, hoping to come into yachting 2020 as a first season, don’t worry, yachting isn’t going anywhere, we have been through worse. For those experienced crew who have missed the season, having been ‘locked in’ at home, again, you’ll be back. Movement between nations will become easier, even if it seems impossible right now. It has been frustrating, people, but as long as you are safe and well, it’s all good – remember that.
Christmas is here, always a time for reflection, for hope and definitely a time for family. If you ARE home this Christmas, enjoy it. It might be the last family Christmas for a while, much is sacrificed in yachting, Christmas is usually one.
From next year, I’ll be posting a series of blogs, introducing some companies who have a similar ethos to Recrewt LTD. Interior training, crew training, other yachting providers who bring a lot to the yachting table. If there are any subjects you would particularly like covered, email me, (crew@recrewt.com ) I’ll see what I can do to make that happen.
As I have crew in all four corners of the globe and I often get sent ‘postcards’ from the edge, I am considering having a crew gallery. If I get enough photos you might see yourselves on the website in 2021. Feel free to send your pics (landscape work best and high resolution)I don’t need to see the name of the boat on photos/uniform, just shots of crew ‘in action’ and/or having fun. Great photos of the beautiful places you are visiting and stories of what you are up to.
I am starting a recruitment (Recrewtment?) drive for positions starting January/February – I have many clients already planning that far ahead, so please update if you are registered already, and register via www.recrewt.com if you are not – jobs will also be posted on LinkedIn and Facebook.
Take what positives you can from this year and turn them into something amazing for 2021. As it is said, in a world where you can be anything, be kind.
Merry Christmas to all, and here’s to a healthy, successful and happy 2021.
